CDT® Speculum engineered safety features:

A safety latch prevents unintended needle extension, and allows for sharps disposal without disassembly.

Needle extension is limited to a maximum of 15mm, which prevents the needle from being extended too far into the middle ear space.

Needle retraction is spring-actuated: the needle is instantly retracted to a protected position when pressure on the actuator is released.

The needle is integral to the speculum. Once the speculum is seated in the ear canal, the needle cannot contact the ear canal wall.

The safeguarded needle protects both patient and practitioner from accidental needle stick injuries.
